This sand dune hinterland is an arid but very peaceful area between a beautiful, refreshing surf beach and an expanse of deserted sand dunes where nothing grows at all. The hinterland is teeming with signs of life, small, hardy plants that endure the constant wind and harsh sun and lots of little creature’s tracks. The light is life-giving and makes you feel happy inside. It reflects on the clean, white sand and creates the loveliest shadows from the grasses, branches and the ripples in the sand. The various plants seem to have their own scripts and languages that they write, like ancient hieroglyphs or calligraphy. Nature’s art is endlessly inventive.
