These tiny pink flowers are quite rare because they only bloom in very particular conditions – after a bushfire and heavy rain at just the right time. The park ranger told me that the last time they were seen in the Blue Mountains was in 1957. It was an incredible privilege to spend a day immersing myself in their beauty. The open flowers are only about the size of your fingernail. Some of the buds were just a few millimetres across. Yet their miniature forms were perfect in every way.
