Held Close is a painting about care, connection, and quiet love.
I wanted to capture that feeling of holding something precious, not because it belongs to us, but because it brings comfort. The girl in the painting is gently embracing two rabbits, and to me, they represent innocence and trust.
As I painted, I thought about how often we rush through life and forget to slow down for the small, peaceful moments. The soft colors and textured brushstrokes reflect that sense of calm.
This piece is about expressing that gentleness is a kind of strength. It’s about finding warmth in simple things and keeping close to what truly matters.
