Additional Information

‘A Camel Named Clyde’ by Mandy Jackson.

Acrylic and assemblage on stretched canvas.

A large eye-catching statement piece.

My partner and I love to travel out to the inland Australian desert regions – the colour and contrast of the landscape in arid and semi-arid regions of Australia can be stunning.

Large herds of wild camels roam the dry, hot arid landscape of central Australia and although I know these camels are considered a pest I really admire their hardiness and character.

The desert herds of wild camels roaming inland Australia are descendants of the camels imported into Australia from Arabia and Afghanistan in the early 1800’s and they helped our pioneers open and chart central Australia.

‘A Camel Named Clyde’ is a nod to these early pioneering camels and he was a lot of fun to create with lots of ‘bling’
