A Flight of Swans from the series Winter Dreams by Australian photographer Bernadette Meyers

Most of the images in this series were taken in Europe and England over a few winters. Although there is a surprising variety of colours in the landscape all year round, I found the bare branches against the often-cloudy sky, made quite a monochromatic palette. I felt this lent itself to a black and white series to emphasise the simplicity and peacefulness of the naked trees.

This image reflects the peacefulness of dusk in winter with the swans finding their place to sleep for the night.
