This new body of work is all about pattern and colour. Choosing a selection of colours that perfectly match and supplement each other and then using experimental pouring techniques, I let the acrylic mixture work its magic. I am always surprised that the same colour palette can be used over and over again and still resulting in every single art piece being different as so many factors affect the mixture. The resulting pour decides what the painting will be. ‘A Little Bit Prickly ‘ is a fluid acrylic pour that started out as a very green acrylic pour with beautiful cells. I was studying the painting for some time before I started to manipulate the painting by using the negative painting style, creating a prickly cactus.
This painting on water colour paper 21cm x 21cm and is framed with a modern white timber frame 28cm wide by 28cm high. The painting is finished with a white mat and protected by glass. 2 D-rings and hanging wire are attached to the back and it is ready to hang. It also has a stand attached to the back so it can be displayed standing on a shelf or cupboard.

Salon style hanging Paintings which are categorised as “small format” works are dynamic collectibles. Art lovers can build a collection of small sized pictures by theme, or artist, or medium or even a similar colour.
