Holidaying in Shark Bay and enjoying the perfect weather at white sandy beach with a glorious light illuminating the turquoise waters was the inspiration for this work that includes a lone figure preparing to explore the underwater world. In Greek mythology Amphitrite is the goddess of the sea and consort of Poseidon. Using a mix of thin oil glazes and cold wax medium to create texture in the the cloudy skies, this work has been painted on a birch timber panel and is framed in an oak box frame.
