With its beautiful sky blue-coloured caps, which become iridescent during breeding season, the Blue Wren is a much loved Australian Bird. It lives in small groups in shrubby bushes, and I can see them almost every day during my walks around the lake in Forest Lake. Apparently the male fairy-wrens sings to their eggs and their chicks come out recognising their parent’s unique song.

This Small Format Art of the Australian Blue Wren started with a fluid acrylic pour background on a 16.5cm diameter and 1cm thick white composite board. It has been embellished with the small Blue Wren.  It is finished with 2 layers of gloss acrylic varnish and has a small metal disc attached to the edge to give it a flat surface to stand upright or it can be displayed on a small included display easel. A hanging wire is also attached to the back.
