Bonsai Love by Michelle Gilks is an original mixed media artwork.  This painting was originally exhibited as part of Now and Zen exhibition at Earlywork gallery in Fremantle, Western Australia.  This exhibition showcased Japanese inspired art, which is a long time passion of the artist.

The artwork was created using a combination of acrylic paint and collage papers – some of which includes Japanese origami paper bought while holidaying in Japan, as well as small pieces of archival printed paper.   It’s multi layered nature, combined with the collage paper, reveals tiny details and unique marks that add complexity to this artwork.

This peaceful artwork would make a perfect gift for any lover of Japanese imagery or anyone who needs some zen in their home.
