Botanical Blushing Beauty by Cathy Gilday.

A botanical painting showcasing the dense foliage of a Rosy Australian Maidenhair Fern. I love the way the fern fronds delicately overlap each other, creating dark shadowy pockets between the leaves. The blushing rose of the newer foliage, seem to pop against the green of the more mature fronds. In this painting, I have used many layers of transparent coloured glazes, in order to capture the natural beauty of this plant. Acrylic on stretched canvas, sides painted, sealed and ready to hang.
