This original painting is of a candelabra cactus or otherwise known as the African milk tree. It is my favourite cacti, simply because of it’s amazing coloured foliage. I have been growing it in my garden for years and it is often a source of inspiration for a painting. Not one to go easy on colour, I have exaggerated the colours a little, giving the painting a lovely vibrance. I have used artist quality paints and mediums. The sides of the painting are painted and it is ready to hang.
