Cradle Mountain Hut by Sam Askin

I have been to Tasmania only once in my life; I was rowing at the Natio nal Championships as a schoolboy. My biggest memory of Tasmania was that no matter where you travel to, you are greeted with this cool, unadulterated wilderness that intersects with cities and towns in a way that feels much more natural than any other place I have been. The Huts of Cradle Mountain epitomise this more than any other landmark I can think of. Human construction immersed in astounding wilderness and natural wonders. I have tried to capture this feeling of that intersection in this piece, and the temperature and comfort brought by two worlds brought together.
