The scene is a wet evening along George Street, Brisbane. The illuminated banner – an advertisement for Chanel No 5 – in conjunction with yellowish streetlights above, provided a wonderful gleam that begged to be painted.  Artificial light seems so appropriate for city scenes, I think.
