With this Mughal Indian art inspired painting titled ‘DEPARTURE’ my vision was to capture an old-world aesthetic, letting go of realistic proportions and lighting. I envisioned a mother comforting her son as he leaves for far away lands, while others who see this painting imagine this to be a lovers’ goodbye! The interpretation of this scene is your perception of the feeling it conveys to you and how it manifests in your imagination.

To enhance and add a little bit of extra interest I have used metallic paints such as copper, antique gold, yellow gold, as well as glitter and pearl paints. While the process of painting itself is enjoyable and satisfying, I look forward to hearing how others perceive my artwork and the story they imagine.

The sides of the canvas have been painted so it can be hung unframed or if you prefer you can frame it according to your choice after purchase. This original acrylic painting is sealed with a low gloss varnish and is ready to hang.
