Fairytale I is unique, original  abstract expressionism painting on canvas, the first of two painted intuitively and spontaneously. As this piece was almost finished, it carried me back to my childhood. Standing back after completing the painting, I felt reconnected to that feeling of being immersed in a world of fantasy.

The bright, mystical colours remind me of those magical moments when fairytales, fairies and fairyland came alive. The painting invites you to explore the delicate and complex patterns and textures created with layering and gestures.

Painted to the edges in a pink hue with drips and splatters and offered without an external frame and would look exquisite framed in a  white wooden float frame.
