Flamingos in Flight by Bernadette Meyers, fine art photographer.

Flamingos were introduced to the Camargue in the south of France and they clearly enjoy the living conditions because they stay there all year round. I was fortunate to see them during the breeding season in winter when their plumage is the most vibrant.

They are beautiful to watch on the water – it’s like Swan Lake in pink! They are also graceful in the air, with their long bodies and slow wing beats. I photographed these trees through the beautiful, antique bevelled glass of an art museum window.
