Foamy Whirlpool by Cathy Gilday This painting was inspired by images I had taken a few years ago. While looking through my studio for references recently, I stumbled upon images taken from a coastal look-out, looking down into the water. I recall thinking how it made my toes tingle, watching the ocean’s relentless energy, as the waves crashed into the rocks, creating a foamy whirlpool. Sides painted, sealed.
