I have always been interested in atmospheric qualities of fleeting light at different times throughout the day. This is a painting of a vintage shell dish in the golden light that poured in my window one afternoon. It is placed on a vintage inlay dresser half in shadow. I always notice the colour of light in different places. It’s rare to see such intense light in this golden colour in Sydney. I attempted to recreate the glow using layers of thin highly saturated paint.
