Australian flora always inspired my art as it is everywhere around me. I love to paint the leaves and Gum flowers and nuts of the Australian eucalyptus trees with their many different shapes and colours. For this painting I collected a bunch of large fresh gum leaves with gum nuts attached from my backyard and laid them out on the prepared canvas board. 

This original acrylic painting of ‘Australian Gum’ is painted on a round MDF board that is covered with canvas and prepared with two layers of Gesso. The finished painting is protected by several layers of acrylic gloss varnish. This painting is unframed, but a hanging wire has been attached to the back of the MDF board. Artwork size is 54cm diameter
