Handsome and I Know It is an original acrylic painting by Michelle Gilks.  This emu portrait was created as part of The Nature of Things exhibition in Fremantle, Western Australia.

The emu is such an unusual looking, yet captivating bird.  This one is captured with his head turned to the side, his eye appraising the viewer – his expression almost cocky! ( Hence the cheeky title)

This painting was created using the finest acrylic paints on thick stretched canvas.  All the edges have been painted to match the front, allowing for hanging without framing.  This artwork is wired, and ready to hang.
