This painting is done layering and mark making techniques are utilised to achieve dimension and form, expressive brushstroke work and highly impactful colours are incorporated to invoke a rushing, rhythmic movement and flow. About Artist:
Alpana Rai’s work, much like her background, is diverse, multi-layered and passionately creative. Immigrating to Melbourne from her native India more than a decade ago, At a more intimate level, Alpana, who finds herself more introvertedly inclined, has discovered that her artistry offers her an alternative language in which to speak, where verbal communication may be less effective or simply unable to suffice. While through her works she can render human connection and conclusive compatibility through shared interpretation, equally too can she expose societal disconnect and distinctive differences via creative discernment.
