This painting is one in my “homonym series”. On this occasion I combined the lyre bird and lyre instrument. I decided to use a monochromatic palette as I wanted to really concentrate on the composition and tonal values for this painting.

I was so thrilled with it that I raced out and had it professionally framed. I have used the framed photo in all the in situ images to give viewers an idea as to how it would look on a wall.

The actual painting is in acrylics on a canvas board measuring 40 x 50cm and is 61 x 71 cm Including the frame.
