Magenta Moments by Cathy Gilday – For me, this semi abstracted artwork was an expression of texture and colour and an example of how the two compliment each other. As I progressed through the mixed media painting, it became apparent to me that the floral subject almost became became secondary. This painting is bright and colourful, has amazing texture and a lovely lustre. I have used may transparent colour glazes to achieve some beautiful tertiary colours.
