Pelicans at Dawn by Bernadette Meyers – fine art photography print

It is a bit of a challenge to be down by the ocean before dawn, but it is always worth the effort. Starting the morning centred on the peacefulness of nature sets me up for a better day. This image is a combination of frames. The main skyscape was taken by holding the shutter open while I panned across the horizon quite slowly to allow some of the cloud texture to remain. That morning, there were pelicans, cormorants and seagulls all patrolling the ocean. I added the pelicans because they are so graceful as they soar out over the water.

I hope this artwork expresses the peace and beauty of an ocean sunrise.
