Pentedattilo, Reggio Calabria Italy by Cathy Gilday – This painting was inspired by my recent trip to the south of Italy, not far from where my parents were born. We took a day trip to this amazing ghost town. The little town, with it’s little ramshackle houses, sits perched, in amongst these amazing finger shaped rock formations. I believe the ruins date back about 1500 years. I have used oils with palette knife application, achieving lucsious heavy textures. Sides painted, signed and ready to hang.
