‘Snake Plant’ by Alicia Gilchrist was painted quickly and intuitively in her kitchen surrounded by her four young children who were playing with play doh. Alicia fully embraced her usual colourful and playful style of painting to create this piece. Her last few ‘pop art series’ paintings have taken several hours. ‘Snake Plant’ is the end result of Alicia’s desire to create something beautiful in a short amount of time. Alicia has found that sometimes her quickest pieces are some of her best work as they are not overworked or overthought.
