The Unknown Hero by Saren Dobkins– walks amongst us. In a tumultuous world, calm is a balm. Looking out for those who can use a shoulder for those times when everything feels like it’s in free fall. A figure dressed in yellow, carefully carries a kangaroo on his shoulder, while a bird stands on his hat as if resting. A larger bird, flies straight above him, into a landscape that is swirling with colour reminiscent of a smoke filled sky. There are trees and some embers. The landscape is imaginary. In her style, the brushstrokes are energetic and directional. The colours are harmonic and bright. There is a story here that was inspired by the heroic actions of the firefighters who rescued the wildlife while the forest’s burned.
