‘This is the Life’ by artist Eileen Scrymgeour Rigby
This is the first of a series of sun worshippers – the deckchair brigade. I am drawn to the beach and to all things associated with sand, sea and surf – mainly as an observer because I am not really able to sit for long periods of time and my sun worshipping days I now consider as folly. Strangely I still am obsessed with these pastimes in my creative world because I am intrigued by the play of light, dark, shadows and the interpretation of all of these, in addition to the narrative, onto canvas.
