Tree in Australiana Wheat Fields by Miranda Lloyd

This is my second wheat inspired painting with one tree as the hero. This painting was inspired by my trip to the Yorke Peninsula SA, we were driving to the coast but you travel a few hours through many wheat and grain farms. I often sketch my ideas when away then do a quick rough mock up on paper for colour inspo and positioning. I do love traveling through this region as such a contrast to the green hills I live in and very flat and dry there but feels so Australian and you feel so free from everything. Look at the close ups for the textures and colours. Very Australiana! Ive also used gold metallics through the field and the tree has a light texture of deep brown almost black.
