Wave Abstract 1 acrylic painting by Bernadette Meyers

I live on the coast and love watching the waves, especially when the surf is huge. The ocean is epic. However, I prefer to admire it from a distance and swim in calmer water. Our local beach is a quiet harbour that sometimes becomes rough. Recently, while swimming there, the waves were surprisingly powerful. Despite the urge to return to shore, I stayed, and it was refreshing, even beautiful, to be in the midst of the wild splashing.

This painting expresses some of my experience.
