In this abstract botanical painting, I am taking a wild journey of escapism through fantasy and curiosity. I enjoyed working with charcoal and both opaque paint and coloured glazes, allowing the composition to change and evolve, without a definite outcome in mind. In my thoughts, it’s a metaphor for holding on to one’s youth but also allowing for growth. The beauty of this type of painting, is that it allows the viewer to make their own interpretation.
