131 Princes Highway Figtree by Darren King

This building was once used as a bus depot in Figtree on the NSW South Coast. It is abandoned currently, deteriorating with age, neglect and intentional damage inflicted. I see the building most days and watch its gradual decline. This artwork attempts to capture the beauty in its decay.

Signed on the front.

This artwork features paint, cut and torn magazines, maps, brochures, recycled then assembled to create this piece. A map of the local area is partially visible in the sky. The layered collaged elements create a nice textural surface.

This piece is on stretched canvas and 2 coats of high gloss varnish have also been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss finish really makes the colours pop and gives the work a glassy finish. It has a wire at the back with painted edges so it is ready for your walls, or you may wish to add a frame directly through Art Lovers during purchase.

Thanks for checking it out. Cheers Darren
