Abandoned Space by Darren King

This is a painting made entirely from recycled paper pieces and adhesive, zero paint. Paper elements are cut, torn and assembled to create this unique, textural, layered, original artwork.

Part of a recent series of small works, celebrating the abandoned, mysterious and forgotten spaces/items around us.

The paper elements have been harvested from various discarded magazines, vintage books, junk mail, maps, packaging materials and brochures. The layered paper along with the adhesive brings a nice textural quality to the work. Some of the vintage book pages used contain notes added to the books by previous owners.

2 coats of gloss varnish have been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss finish really makes the colours pop and gives the work a glassy finish. It has a wire at the back and the collage continues on the edges so it is ready for your walls, or you may wish to add a frame directly through Art Lovers during purchase.
