Sandgate, Queensland is a place that I frequent and am inspired by. It has different moods depending on the day, the time and tide. Sometimes there are droves of people with their dogs on the ‘unleashed beach and sometimes hardly anyone at all. My paintings tell the story and this painting is a story of tranquility on a day when the beach was almost deserted. The sky and water also change depending on the time of year. I love this particular painting for its calm simplicity. I use only Atelier or Matisse professional quality acrylics.
