The common brown Butterfly, Heteronympha Merope. Ready to hang.

This piece is made entirely from recycled pieces of paper and acrylic paint. The paper elements have been cut /torn from various magazines, packaging, vintage books, brochures and junk mail. The 2 pages behind the butterfly have been take from a vintage Shakespeare book, ‘The Merchant Of Venice’. The background has been taken from an old classical music book.

This piece was created on primed mdf board and is framed (no glass). The frame is an old recycled wooden screen printing frame that has been revitalized/repurposed, and is beautiful by itself. 2 coats of high gloss varnish have also been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss finish really makes the colours pop and gives the work a glassy finish.
