‘Casper’ by Darren King – the friendly ghost is made entirely from an old ghost magazine (History Of Ghosts) and paint. The paper collage elements have been cut/torn, repurposed and assembled. I love creating these pieces and reliving childhood memories, filled with good times and nostalgia. The use of a seemingly serious ghost mag combined with a fictional cartoon ghost seemed like the perfect marriage.

Hundreds of small pieces mesh together to create form, depth and the finished piece. Loads of ghost related snipping’s, text and scary oddities throughout.

2 coats of high gloss varnish have also been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss finish really makes the colours pop and gives the work a glassy finish.
