Additional Information

Dark Days by Darren King – Mixed Media painting on canvas, stretched and ready to hang with wire on the back. Created using acrylics, gouache paint and poster inks. Signed on the front.

Overcoming negativity is the main theme in this piece. Not allowing the rubbish to overtake your mind & bring you down. My love of music also contributes lyrics/text to this painting. A band called Modern Life Is War was my soundtrack whilst creating this particular painting.
This piece was first painted to create the colourful background, then screen printed in black directly onto the canvas to add design elements & structure, then over painted again to finish it off.

Loads of layers, loads of hidden text & details some covered, some pushing through.

The piece is on stretched canvas pine frame and surrounded by a simple wooden external frame that is painted in a gloss white paint. It has a wire at the back & is ready to hang.

2 coats of gloss varnish have also been applied to protect the artwork & the gloss finish really brings out all the intricate details in the work.
