Deco, Scrolls & Proteas – An original oil painting created in my Mountain studio in Olinda, Victoria, Australia

A larger work measuring 106.7cm x 81.3cm x 3.5cm  (unframed), this is an original oil painting on stretched canvas featuring some locally grown proteas and Leucadendron.

We are very fortunate to live near Victoria’s largest flower growing and distribution area in Silvan, Victoria. Although seasonal I enjoy sourcing flowers from these local flower growers in their roadside stalls for my paintings. Pop a few dollars in the honesty box and they are all yours. These proteas and leucadendron were freshly cut and full of colour!

My current works in oils are also exploring my interest in Vintage and Antique items and fabrics sourced from my extensive range I have collected over many years.

Before moving to painting full time, I worked as an Antique dealer / Vintage merchant supplying beautiful items for interior design and TV and movie sets. As a result I have quite the collection of special pieces and am enjoying mixing their unique qualities as subject matter into my artwork.

To the back is my interpretation of a beautifully patterned Art Deco rug along with a Vintage wrought iron scroll panel which was originally part of a hand rail on a 1960’s house.

Ready to hang with professional wire hanger to the back.
