Everything’s Coming Up Milhouse! by Darren King

Inspired by Milhouse, The Simpsons and Scrabble.

From The Simpsons, episode 19, Season 10. “Mom and Pop Art”. It was the day of a great Springfield flood and Milhouse just happened to be wearing his flood pants. When the water seeped into his room, yes, his feet got wet, but his cuffs were bone dry! A quote that has become famous, and featured in countless memes.

The collage elements have been taken from old books, a Simpsons comic, magazines, music sheets, packaging materials and junk mail. Lots of random oddities, imagery and text throughout, including a few show characters.

The scrabble tiles are raised off the surface and create a nice textural quality sitting higher than the background.

This is a colourful, glossy statement pop art piece, drenched in silliness and positivity.

This piece is on stretched canvas and 2 coats of high gloss varnish have also been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss finish really makes the colours pop and gives the work a glassy finish. It has a wire at the back with painted edges so it is ready for your wall, or you may wish to add a frame directly through Art Lovers during purchase.

Thanks for checking it out. Cheers Darren
