“Hunter” Young Birmingham male lion by Deb Farrimond – I met this stunning young lion while on safari in South Africa. His presence was awe inspiring for my art and conservation passion. We sat with him and another male as the sun set at dusk, they eventually arose from their slumber and stretched before heading off into the evening darkness.
I photographed him in the dim light with our guide spotlighting his face, I just knew this would be the perfect painting when we returned home from our wonderful safari holiday.
This is my pastel painting of his face as his eyes were fixated on a movement in the distance. Such a privilege to be so close to a magnificent creature!
