The Simpsons inspired pop art, mixed media goodness.

‘Please Stand By’ by Darren King is a mixed media artwork on canvas. Made from paint, screen print on paper and collage. This piece is inspired by The Simpsons newsreader Kent Brockman and the technical difficulties screen that was used in episode 6 Season 5. ‘Marge On The Lam’. Kent and the circle are all collage, the background is collage, paint and screen print.

The collage elements have been taken from junk mail, packaging, discarded books, magazines, maps and brochures. The ‘Technical Difficulties’ and ‘Please Stand By’ text has been screen printed onto paper than adhered to this piece.

2 coats of high gloss varnish have also been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss finish really makes the colours pop and gives the work a glassy finish. The edges are decorated, so it is ready for your wall, or you may wish to add a frame during purchase.
