This is one of a series of painting featuring the banksia robur leaves, flowers and cones from my garden. These plants are twisted and gnarly, covered in many generations of flowers and follicles. For me they represent strength and persistence – the perfect characteristics for resilience.

This banksia branch is basking in the early morning sun in a thick square glass vase creating beautiful shadows on the wall. There are often secrets buried in to shadows, these ones look joyful.
