Sunshine On Albert Street by Michael Cawdrey – This acrylic on canvas has been in my collection for some time.

It depicts a sunlit intersection in Brisbane, where Albert and Charlotte Streets meet, and where Gilhooley’s Irish Pub and Restaurant is situated.

I was especially drawn to the strong shape of the umbrellas, and the tonal contrasts created underneath.

Warm yellows harmonise with muted violet.

As always, I used professional artist quality acrylics and mediums. The deep-sided stretched canvas was triple-primed.

While unframed, the painting is ready to hang on the canvas stretcher.
