‘Super Mario’ is a painting primarily created with paper collaged pieces. Mario himself was made entirely from a Retro Gaming magazine. Loads of old game references throughout this piece. Some Mario related, others not.

The remaining paper elements have been taken from discarded or damaged books, junk mail, packaging materials, brochures and vintage magazines. The paper pieces combined with painted elements create a layered textural surface.

3 coats of gloss varnish have been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss gives a glassy sheen to the artwork that really brings out the details in this piece.

The artwork has a wire at the back, the edges are collaged/painted, so it is ready to hang. Or you can add a frame during purchase through Art Lovers.
