When an ex-student brings flowers it is so much more than just a gift – the joy is immeasurable! The joy in receiving, arranging, smelling the fragrance though special is nowhere equal to the joy that the gift represents. My paintings always tell a story of what has been, been seen, been revered and remembered but for the viewer it may evoke a different story or just simply bring a sense of well-being. The painting itself is a play of contrasts and textures on a taller canvas than I usually choose in order to emphasise the elegant height of the vase. This is one of a series of three and could therefore work as a diptych or triptych art work.  Certificate of authenticity supplied.
