Additional Information

The Grady Twins by Darren King – This piece is inspired by the Stanley Kubrick film ‘The Shining’ which is an absolute horror favourite of mine. This is my interpretation of these creepy young ladies.

This piece is 100% paper collage and adhesive, made from torn and cut papers recycled from various vintage magazines, kids books, cooking books, maps and prints repurposed then reassembled to create this one of a kind original piece. Several movie references have been included in this piece.

I am currently drawn to the random nature of collage and combining discarded, unused recycled materials. Using unrelated elements and mashing them together to create something entirely new.

The piece is on a primed professional Painting Board which is made from a smooth blonde coloured plywood panel with pine bracing ensuring a strong and warp resistant painting support. 2 coats of gloss varnish have also been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss finish really makes the colours pop and gives the work a glassy finish. It has a wire at the back with painted edges so it is ready for your walls.

Thanks for checking it out. Cheers Darren
