The Hamburglar by Darren King – Robble, robble!

Inspired by the criminal mastermind, The Hamburglar.

The entire artwork is made from various discarded books, brochures, magazines and junk mail. All bits are torn, cut, assembled and glued to create this textured one of a kind original artwork.
His face is primarily made from a vintage Burger cookbook, check the pics for details. His mask is black felt which adds a nice textural element to the piece. Loads of layering and a few of his mates make an appearance in the artwork too.

This piece was created on a professional Painting Board which is made from a smooth blonde coloured plywood panel with pine bracing ensuring a strong and warp resistant painting support. 2 coats of high gloss varnish will be applied to protect the artwork. The gloss really makes the colours pop & gives the work a glassy finish.

I am currently drawn to the random nature of collage and combining discarded, unused recycled materials. Using unrelated elements and mashing them together to create something entirely new.

The edges are decorated so it is ready for your wall.

Thanks for checking it out. Cheers Darren
