Trees Outback Sunset Gum Leaves by Miranda Lloyd

SPECIAL. This is my first version of my gum leaves in a landscape format. My other gum leaves I have always done in portrait. Inspired by living in the Adelaide Hills and my outback Australian adventures. Gum Trees surround us all in Australia and are such an Australian icon especially if there is a koala up it or a kangaroo by its side (hahaha). I love seeing the really old gums that stand so robust and have so much character and history. Trees were my first subject when I started out painting and still are a strong subject today. This style of artwork is also inspired by lino art, the simple outline of subjects but still detailed and eye catching. The background has a light texture of oranges, burnt oranges, greeny blues, sky blues, turquoise, metallic golds, deep blue, pinks, white, yellow and copper, all the hues that you would find in the outback at sunset. This painting would also look great on a dark feature wall too.
